Centerstage has returned to its roots with four camps for young people at the Knutzen Family Theatre. Each camp is
taught by an experienced theatre professional. $50.00 deposit is needed for registration. Please register early as camp
size is limited. Multi-child discounts, and courtesy of Federal Way Kiwanis, limited scholarships are available.
Creation Station: Theatre Skills
Ages: 4 - 7 years
July 5 - 16
Using Theatre games, classic and popular literature such as The Three Little Pigs, Anansi
and The Moss
Covered Rock, and Junie B Jones, students will be exposed to beginning acting skills.
After their two week camp students will showcase
what they've learned with a performance on July 16th.

How To Eat Like A Child

This musical romp through the joys and sorrows of being a child is hilarious. Children give 23 lessons in
such subjects as how to beg for a dog, how to torture your sister, how to act after being sent to your
room and how to laugh hysterically. The pace is fast, the tone is hilarious and the recognition instant.

A wild and wonderful mix of theatre activities and skill-building, which may include makeup, audition
technique, scene study and creative dramatics. Their two week camp will have a showcase performance
on July 16th.

Disney's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL will be taught and directed by ALAN BRYCE. Alan is Artistic Director of Centerstage. He has teaching experience from the Graduate Level (at the state University of New York at Albany) down to Kindergarten (Kirkland [NY] Arts Center). Alan has three grown sons and a 3-year old daughter. |

Nora Ephron/John Forster award-winning HOW TO EAT LIKE A CHILD will be directed by CAITLIN FRANCES. Caitlin was the Education Director at Second Story Repertory Theatre in Redmond and taught in house and for outreach education programs for 4 years. She has appeared at Centerstage in Contact and Enchanted April. Caitlin is Mom to a busy 2 year-old son. |

WALAYN SHARPLES will teach the Creation Station and Theatre Potpourri. A certificated teacher, Walayn Sharples has taught and incorporated drama in public and private school K-8 and has taught drama classes at Village Theatre and Second Story Repertory Theatre. She has appeared at Centerstage in A Christmas Carol and Enchanted April. Walayn's daughters are two of her mom's greatest fans! |

MARK RABE will be musical director of High School Musical and How To Eat Like A Child. Mark has worked on many shows for Centerstage including Contact, 4 Christmases and Nicholas Nickleby. He has directed music at Seattle Children's Theatre and at the Village Theatre in Issaquah. Mark's son is now 6 and looks like he will play for the Seahawks sooner rather than later. |
