Outstanding New Play Gregory Award Nominee

For All That

We congratulate Centerstage's Alan Bryce, 2015 Gregory Awards “Outstanding New Play” nominee for his critically acclaimed 2015 premier of “For All That.”   Through their nomination, the Gregory Awards, which honor and celebrate outstanding achievements in theatre arts in Washington State, recognized the outstanding achievements of the cast, crew, production staff and playwright (Alan).  “For All That” a musical story about two Scottish brothers, the woman they loved and the tragedy visited upon their village by WWI, received high praise from critics and audience members during its May 2015 run at Centerstage.  The reviewer for the “Weekly Valcano” called it a “a phenomenal show”, “a musical unlike any I’ve ever seen” that “left me speechless.”  Like many, L. Steven Sieden of the HuffPost pondered prior the show, “how could someone create an entertaining musical from such a destructive story" only to declare afterwards that it was a “surprisingly uplifting testament to the triumph of the human nature.”  We congratulate everyone involved in making “For All That” a success and look forward to Alan's newest creation “Death On The Supermarket Shelf” coming to Centerstage in March 2016.

[A side-note: "For All That" was also nominated for the BroadwayWorld Seattle Awards and is currently open to your votes. Best NEW/ORIGINAL/ADAPTATION play/musical ]

Board President Bob Dockstader, Vice President Cindy Ducich and Artistic Director, Alan Bryce met recently with representatives of the City of Federal Way.
It was a very positive and productive meeting. The City offered Centerstage a three-month extension to the current contract, giving us all time to work out the details of a new three-year contract.
Centerstage is staying right where it is!
There is no doubt in my mind that this is due to the outpouring of support we received from people like you. The City was compelled to listen, and to their great credit...they DID listen. They heard the voice of the people.
Thank you again,
Centerstage Board of Directors

Gregory Award: The Melissa Hines Award

At Seattle’s Gregory Theatre Awards on Oct. 28, 2013 Centerstage Office Manager Laura Campbell won the coveted Melissa Hines Award.

The Seattle Times wrote: “They don’t get the audience applause and the critical acclaim. But without the hard work and passionate commitment of behind-the-scenes people, Seattle would not have the vibrant performing arts scene the city is celebrated for.”

Give Big

Thank You to Our Champions!

Centerstage wants to pass along a huge hug and Thank You! to all our champion donors that gave over $9,000 - for that we're truly grateful and happy.

The Seattle Foundation's GiveBIG was a one-day, online charitable giving event to inspire people to give generously to nonprofit organizations who make our region a healthier and more vital place to live.
Each donation made between midnight and midnight (Pacific Daylight Time) on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, received a prorated portion of the matching funds (or "stretch") pool.  Employer 'matching donations' generously made funds go farther!
