2013 - 2014 Season

We're finishing our 2013 -14 season, and looking forward to our next, but not before we go for some great fun, song and laughter!

May 3 is Entertainment Exlplosion - our Caberet Fundraiser -- Event at 6:30pm -- Show begins at 8:00pm

Headlining this fabulous evening of entertainment is Stephanie Anne Johnson, recently of television's The Voice! Stephanie will perform with many of Centerstage's favorite entertainers for this fundraising extravaganza.& Delicious hors d'oeuvres created by Dumas Bay Master Chef, Scott Franklin will be served, along-sid the cash bar. Baskets full of fun and entertaining items are waiting to be bid on by you! Be prepared to have a blast while you support your local theatre!

May 25 -- on Sunday at 2:30pm -- Great Songs and Great Singers finishes up their season with the songbook from Frank Sinatra. David Duvall and the Purple Phoenix Orchestra will back Bob De Dea and friends as they sing songs of Sinatra.

May 30 - June 15 -- Sister returns in Sister's Summer School Catechism. Come on your best behavior, because even with air conditioning 50 pounds of gaberdine is not condusive to putting Sister in a good mood as she discusses 'Did Jesus have to go to summer school?' or 'What is an appropriate summer vacation for a practicing Catholic?'

June 30 -- Will finish our year with summer camps that are two weeks and four weeks long. Sign ups are happening now!

Gregory Award: The Melissa Hines Award

Surprise Laura!

At Seattle’s Gregory Theatre Awards on Oct. 28, 2013 Centerstage Office Manager Laura Campbell won the coveted Melissa Hines Award.

The citation reads: “The recipient of this award is honored for their involvement with theatre in Washington state over the last year. This category is intended to honor those dedicated individuals who make theatre possible, enabling artists to do their art, but who often are not recognized by curtain calls, reviews or awards. This category may include production crew and stage management, volunteers, administrators, board members, donors and patrons.”

The Seattle Times wrote: “They don’t get the audience applause and the critical acclaim. But without the hard work and passionate commitment of behind-the-scenes people, Seattle would not have the vibrant performing arts scene the city is celebrated for.”

In front of more than a thousand of Seattle’s theatrical finest who gathered at the Neptune Theatre, Centerstage Artistic Director Alan Bryce noted the particular challenges of operating a small company in a first-class facility like the Knutzen Family Theatre in Federal Way. “What is needed are the old-fashioned virtues of the theatre business: the ability and the willingness to do many jobs with tireless enthusiasm. And Laura does this with her fiery personality, her huge sense of humor and her enormous heart.”

Give Big

The Seattle Foundation's GiveBIG is a one-day, online charitable giving event to inspire people to give generously to nonprofit organizations who make our region a healthier and more vital place to live.
Each donation made between midnight and midnight (Pacific Daylight Time) on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, will receive a prorated portion of the matching funds (or "stretch") pool. The amount of the "stretch" depends on the size of the stretch pool and how much is raised in total donations on GiveBIG day.
